SUBSCRIPTION THEME REVEAL!!!

I am SO EXCITED to share with you all that the first 12 months of our revived subscription service will be Disney and Pixar inspired! 🏰
Every month subscribers will receive at least one bag of tea based on a different Disney/Pixar "thing" (movie, character, food, etc). Subscriptions will be through our shop's website now! No need to sign up with a third party service!

Subscriptions will open on August 16th for the first blend, which will ship out the week of September 15th. I will share more details as we get closer to subscriptions opening.

Are you as excited as I am? 😱😱😱😱 I have such a fun menu planned out for the next year, I can't wait for y'all to try them! Which movies are you hoping will make an appearance? ✨

I'm back from a beautiful, soul-filling NOCF 2021 weekend with my Phair Phamily 💛🍑
I knew I missed everybody and needed a break but my goodness! This vacation was QUITE a wake up call. May I speak candidly for a moment?
As a small business owner doing a large majority of the work all on my own, burn out is REAL. When marketing is primarily through social media outlets and algorithms constantly change it's incredibly easy to fall into the trap of spending all your time on apps in an effort to boost sales. Which is exactly the hellhole I've been living in for months. And while I deeply appreciate the friendships and community we've built together here, I have to admit it has been exhausting and creativity draining to spend so much time here and not enough time living my life. I would catch myself spending more hours a day on here, all throughout the day, than doing anything else in my business by a large margin before my vacation.
That's just not okay with me anymore. Furthermore, it's not sustainable for my business, especially given I'm the only one running this account, blending teas, packing orders, etc and so forth.
Over the weekend I was able to personally serve tea to my Phamily, discuss ingredient properties and blend inspiration, and remember why I got into tea in the first place.
To slow down. To connect. To take care.
I've been having a bit of a business identity crisis the past few months. This vacation was exactly what I needed to remember my roots and recalibrate. Thus, I deeply encourage you to take a break if you're feeling burnt out. A break from work, from social media, from strained relationships - whatever it is that is dragging you down lately, take a day or two or seven to step away. Check in with yourself, remember who you are when you're not spending all your time on that job/app/person/what have you, and recalibrate. You may just find that you've veered off the path you were excited about. Now's the time to find your way back 💛

🫖 Fun stuff first: there is a poll in my stories (if it's gone please respond here!) for the subscription theme for the first year! Would you prefer broken book boyfriends or Disney? 🫖 Still fun stuff, but mostly for me: I will be on vacation July 3rd through July 11th. The shop will still be open for orders but any orders placed won't be shipped until July 12th. Please keep that in mind if you're considering ordering soon 😊

The past few weeks have brought about a TON of big, scary news in my life. A lot of it revolving around my personal health, with some relating to family members' health. My schedule and routines have been flipped upside down as I live by the chimes of reminder notifications on my phone in between making calls and waiting for call backs from multiple doctors' offices.
I WILL BE OKAY. I am already making progress against years of compounded issues. That said, I am TIRED. Physically and emotionally. I am scared, because all this progress may not counteract my medical needs enough to prevent surgery.
I am no quitter, but I do firmly believe in reprioritizing when the situation warrants it.
Thus, I have an announcement to make. While I will still be around on IG, I will be spending the summer focusing my efforts on in-person markets. I will repost your stories and posts, of course! I'll post here myself occasionally (maybe weekly?) and I'll definitely respond to DMs. But Battle of the Fandoms is cancelled for the time being. There won't be any fun themed challenges throughout the summer. I won't be responding to y'all as quickly as I have been able to up til now. Instead, I'll be sending more frequent newsletters to keep y'all up to date and working on building the new subscription service (the theme for the first 12 months 🙊🙊🙊). I'll be vending at events around Oregon and preparing for the holidays (I'll be more active here again when the fall menu hits!). And I'll be taking care of my body, which is finally getting the medical attention it needs and deserves 💛

Hey Sweeteas! Popping in to say I haven't forgotten you or the #cmsteapartychallenge reel challenge 💛I am a busy bee over here getting summer blends ready and preparing for markets. Which has sadly meant less time for insta.
If you follow any other small businesses I would like to encourage you to give them some love over the next few weeks. Because most of us are probably in the midst of preparing for fall and holiday sales already while also jumping back into in -person markets while ALSO launching new products while ALSO selling wholesale to brick and mortars while ALSO making and packing orders from you lovelies while ALSO trying to maintain some semblance of sanity and balance in our personal lives 😅 I know Christmas seems like months away, but many businesses have to start preparing in June in order for things to run smoothly. (My shop included!)
So go follow your favorite small businesses. Give them a shout out in your stories. Share a post or reel of their product and talk about how you use it or why you enjoy it so much. If you have a coupon/rep code or know someone else's rep code, share that too to encourage folks to give that business a try.
Small actions add up. Many of us are still recovering from 2020 and there's a lot of uncertainty still going into this upcoming holiday season. I am certain I speak for many when I say showing off some small biz love would be greatly appreciated by your favorite shops 💛
And on that note, I promise I'll get back to some sort of IG consistency again. But it may start looking different as the seasons and workload shifts from behind the scenes computer work back to blending and order packing like the High Tea Priestess that I am 😂 stories will likely be heavily relied upon. But gosh darn it, I have (ridiculous) plans for this week's classics theme for the reel challenge. I will get funny looks probably and I am very excited about that 😁😁😁

There is SO MUCH going on behind the scenes here at CMS lately that I wanted to pause and reflect on how far this shop has come 💛 It was only a little less than two years ago that I put together a handful of blends and handed them out at Fair. A year ago since I had to temporarily shut down, unsure if the shop would be able to reopen again. I went from bankrupt and unemployed to building a thriving business and paying myself in just two years. It's kind of unbelievable 😶 Now things are changing so quickly I'm having a hard time keeping track of all that has changed.

And that before the evil C-word the labels were all hand drawn and written? 😱 Labels have changed so quickly and I loved each kind of label. Another big change: one of the big behind the scenes things I'm doing is preparing for a virtual wholesale show (if you run a brick and mortar or know someone who does and want to see my tea in your/their shop, let me know and I'll send you an invite!). I felt so honored when I started working with @alabasterandash - my first and currently only wholesale account. And I also felt completely out of my league! Now here I am, less than a year later, gearing up to add more wholesale accounts. Like whaaaaat?! 😱😱😱

All of these rapid changes and success upon success stories are because of you! 💛💛💛 Every order you Sweeteas make causes me to happy dance (do y'all wanna see my happy dances? Should I be sharing these? 😂💃). Every time you shout out or tag CMS in your posts puts a huge smile on my face! Every DM you send telling me how much you love your tea?
